Now that you know...
Wish you were here? First let's take you there from Paris, France.
Piece of cake, you would say? Well, you first take a shuttle from the car park PX to your terminal and all this 3 hours before departure. Now, Check in. Security checks. Calm flight, land NYC -7°C, hum! Call your hotel for their shuttle, misunderstanding they claimed, we do not do JFK airport!
Get a taxi, no problem, the cab driver is called Jean (John in English). You chat a bit, he is from Haiti! So we start speaking French. We ate too much so bed!
I played with my Blackberry under the sheets and woke up at 03:00 instead of 04:00 AM, so played with bits and pieces until the hotel alarm woke me for good. Slower, try to find taxi to go to the airport across the road.
Security checks and finally found a shop to buy some coffee, plane departed to Cincinati, are you still there? The best is yet to come. Transit 1 hour and 30 mins before taking flight DL 272 to Cancun!
Got there and now lets find our hotel shuttle... No problem, the guys were there, in fact Edgar was there. Interesting trip to the hotel, huge holes in the main street. Driving is a rodeo and seriously, I started to think of not driving at all.
Nice room, air conditionned, view over the streets, in town, we are in town. We love to be in town, near to the natives...
Lunch was expedited at the hotel's buffet. I went for a short nap as it started to rain, Laurence took her "bible" out, well her Michelin guide. I woke up at 19:45, showered and we enquired about dinner. The hotel does breakfast and lunch only!
Taxi! This is most interesting, it's a flat fare 15 pesos or 2 dollars. We had some dollars left... Local cuisine, no problem there, tacos of beef/chicken, man, cakes for sweets made with condensed milk, sweetened, something I have not had since 1971 (my nutritionist's IP address will be banned on my blog)!
Back to the hotel....
{More to come]
